The much-loved Crowe’s Wood Halloween Trail returns to Kiplin Hall and Gardens this October. Celebrating its 400th anniversary in 2025, Kiplin Hall has witnessed many historic milestones. Hence the theme this year, 400 years of Scares.
Staff and volunteers have turned a timeline of world events into a spooky reimagining. Creatively commemorating world events in the past four centuries. From the Millenium Bug to the first journey of Locomotion Number 1, the displays are sure to raise a spooky smile.
Curator Alice Rose explains: “We work very hard each year to create a unique and original Halloween Trial. The scenes are months in the planning. Families will recognise scenes from recent world events and from centuries long past. It means a lot to us to see people enjoying the trail and exploring the woodland. We especially love to see families attending in fancy dress, it’s such a fun time of year, so we are keeping our fingers crossed for some mild weather. As well as the trail outside, we also have our Thanksgiving displays inside the hall and games and activities in the Family Activity Room upstairs.”
Kiplin Hall and Gardens is open 6 days a week, closed on Thursdays. Crowe’s Wood Halloween Trail 17th Oct – 5th Nov. The Halloween trail is on earth and bark chipping paths in the woodland. Paths can get muddy. Please wear sensible footwear and expect prams or pushchairs to get muddy. If you do not enjoy Halloween events but would like to visit, keep in mind the spooky displays are confined to the woodland. This area can be avoided if you wish. www.kiplinhall.co.uk
