Whilst Bolton Castle near Leyburn in North Yorkshire has crafted the perfect ghostly scene for some Halloween shenanigans this October, the team in the Tea Room has gone all out to ensure their visitors have a choice of re-energising dishes to maintain momentum so little ones and grown-ups can enjoy every minute! It takes stamina to keep everyone on their toes this Halloween, and their in-castle cook, Annie, has pulled out all the stops with home-made pasties, wild boar pies, plus cakes and treats to refuel any flagging visitors.  You may be joining in the fun at half-term with trails and ghostly activities – perfect for all the family – but it’s also a great opportunity to fill your boots with home-made goodies ahead of winter’s arrival. Plus Annie is hoping to achieve making 3,000 pasties in one season! Can you help her?

See the website for details for a raft of fun activities to bring out the best of Halloween Half-term, it’s up to you whether you eat before or after, just make sure you don’t go to the dungeon hungry ……

Enjoy our Family trail with pumpkins and dark corners include silent witches (the worst kind!) with their bubbling cauldrons and disgusting recipes to inflict their evil spells on visitors who come too close or check out the dungeon scarily dotted with skeletons proving how hard it is to escape with an empty stomach (make sure you don’t end up there!) Plus there’s storytelling upstairs with our own costumed castle resident at 1pm on  26, 27 & 28 October and 30 & 31 October where Halloween is given an extra chill for little ones with tales of castle ghouls and funny frolics to make you laugh.  Or just visit for one of Annie’s delicious pasties!
