This March, let the Burton Agnes Orchid Festival banish those winter blues! On the weekend of the 3rd and 4th March, dramatic and creative displays of the vibrantly coloured exotic plants will fill the ground floor of this historic Elizabethan house.
Visitors are invited to enjoy the floral spectacle, and choose competitively priced plants from the broadest – and rarest – selection in the area. Additionally, orchid expert Ray Creek will be on hand to answer questions and provide expert advice about growing and caring for your own orchids at home.
Simon Cunliffe-Lister says: “We decorate the Hall with orchids year-round; they are extravagantly beautiful and can flower for months at a time. I very much hope that our annual Orchid Festival, where my home is alive with the colour and scent of orchids, brings you both joy and inspiration.”
After enjoying the wonder of the orchids, visitors can stroll in the woodland walk to catch the final weekend of the snowdrop opening. You are also welcomed to the courtyard, where home grown plants will be sold and the café will serve home cooked meals and delicious treats throughout the weekend.
After the Orchid Festival, the next event at Burton Agnes is the Easter Egg Hunt on the 1st and 2nd April, where children can meet the Easter Bunny and search for chocolate in our woodland walk.
