Become an Easter Detective – find the clues, solve the crime and rescue the Easter bunny – chocolate reward offered.

Families are invited to step into the role of Easter detectives this spring at RHS Garden Harlow Carr, as a brand-new mystery trail brings clues, suspects and seasonal fun to the garden this Easter.

Just as the Easter Bunny was preparing to deliver chocolate across the country, disaster struck – every egg basket was discovered completely empty, with only a single carrot left behind. Rumours quickly spread that the Easter Bunny is to blame… but the evidence suggests something far more mischievous. The carrot appears to have been deliberately planted, and eight curious characters were spotted near the scene of the crime.

Now it’s up to young visitors to uncover the truth.

Running from Saturday 28 March to Sunday 19 April, the Easter Detectives trail challenges families to follow clues hidden throughout the garden and piece together the mystery of who framed the Easter Bunny. Along the way, visitors can enjoy the first signs of spring across the gardens, from delicate blossom to vibrant seasonal colour.

For £3 per child, families can pick up a detective activity pack and set off on a puzzle-solving adventure designed to spark imagination and teamwork as they race to solve the case of the missing chocolate in time to save Easter.

Each detective pack includes colouring pencils and a range of activities suitable for different ages, including colouring challenges, codes and puzzles. A simpler secondary trail ensures even the youngest investigators can join in the fun – and of course, every successful detective earns a chocolate prize.

This brand-new intergenerational experience promises an engaging and entertaining day out for the whole family, blending storytelling, problem solving and plenty of Easter charm.

Visitors can also explore the newly installed Wind in the Willows Garden Adventure, where families can roam the garden alongside Mole, Ratty and Badger – and perhaps chase after the mischievous Mr Toad – while discovering themes of nature, loyalty and friendship.

Entry to RHS Garden Harlow Carr is free for RHS members and children under five, while under-17s are just £5. Detective packs cost £3 per child. Visitors can save more by booking garden admission online in advance.

Plan your Easter adventure and help solve the mystery before it’s too late.
