Ormesby Hall in Middlesbrough is gearing up for a Summer of Play for all the family.

From Saturday 22 July, the National Trust property is encouraging children and families to get active and enjoy a playful summer. Sports on offer will include tennis, badminton, cricket and table tennis. There’ll be a new grass maze and archery will be available on certain dates.

There will also be a range of circus activities throughout the school holidays, where children can have fun with circus related games and we will be bringing in circus performers on selected dates.

Leanne Allan, Visitor Experience Officer at Ormesby Hall, says:

“We’re really excited about our offer this year. Starting at the same time as the school holidays on Saturday 22 July, the Summer of Play activities will be available throughout the summer until Sunday 3 September. On select dates, we’ll be holding specific event days, such as bringing in circus performers.

We’re encouraging everyone in the local area to come and spend a day here at Ormesby Hall during the holidays. As well as getting involved in the activities, it’s a fantastic opportunity to come and find out more about the house and its amazing history.”

During the summer, Ormesby Hall is open seven days a week. Normal admission prices apply, which includes access into the house, garden and café. These are £6 for adults, £3 for children and £15 for a family. National Trust members and under fives are free admission.

Ormesby Hall will be open from 10.30am – 5pm, with last admission at 4pm. For more information to help plan a visit, go to www.nationaltrust.org.uk/ormesby-hall
