A haunted house with spooky decorations awaits those brave enough to step inside Ormesby Hall this Halloween, as it’s transformed for the autumn half-term.
From Saturday 25 October until Sunday 2 November, the National Trust property in Middlesbrough will be decorated throughout, with plenty for all the family to enjoy inside and outside the classic Georgian mansion.
The ever-popular Halloween Evenings also return, with visitors able to explore the Hall at night. As darkness falls, its doors will be open between 5pm and 8pm on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 October, with roaming dark mysterious characters waiting inside to greet those who enter and spooky storytelling taking place in the library. The cafe will be open and there will be stalls offering refreshments outside the property, including marshmallow toasting on the fire pit.
Due to the popularity of the evenings, booking is essential. This is also the case during the day from Tuesday 28 to Friday 31 October, with pre-booked timeslots available to visitors. On these days, The Walking Theatre Company will be at the property performing their very special show, Frankenstein’s School of Monsters.
Leanne Allan, Senior Visitor Experience Officer at Ormesby Hall, says: “We always enjoy Halloween at Ormesby Hall and like to go all out. We have a few new surprises in store for visitors this year, with our theme being monsters!
We urge anyone wanting to attend the Halloween Evenings during half-term to book their ticket as soon as possible, as last year was a complete sell out. The same applies to those who would like to see the brand-new family-friendly Frankenstein’s School of Monsters show.”
Normal admission prices apply, which includes access into the house, garden, café and the monsters show. These are just £7 for adults, £3.50 for children and £17.50 for a family. National Trust members and under fives are free admission, however booking is still essential to attend from Tuesday 28 – Friday 31 October during the day and on the two evenings. Tickets are on sale now from the events page of Ormesby Hall’s website.
Ormesby Hall is open daily from Saturday 25 October to Sunday 2 November, 10.30am until 4pm, with last admission at 3pm.
