Trees add so much value to any garden, providing structure all year round, blossom in the spring and beautiful colours in the autumn. The fruit from these trees may be suitable for humans to eat, but will certainly provide a vital food source for the garden birds.

On this workshop, led by garden owner Vanessa Cook, you will learn which trees will bring the most “bang for your bucks!” Find out about the huge variety of trees available and discover which ones are best for your garden in terms of shape, size and the value they will add all year round. You will also receive tips on planting, growing and pruning the trees.

The course includes a garden tour where you will see many of the trees discussed, especially those displaying beautiful autumn colours, including hips and berries. Vanessa will discuss some of the challenges she has had to contend with, including extremes of weather. Handouts and catalogues will be used for reference.
