After being such a big hit last summer with children and grown-ups alike, our Pop-up Play is back with a brand new play space: Harewood’s Woodland Wonderland.

As part of our new circular walk, this year families can enjoy our new woodland pop-up play, created with willow weaver Leilah Vyner. With winding willow mazes, twisting and turning between the trees, there is plenty to discover in this new outdoor play space. Nestled next to Harewood’s All Saints’ Church, our new play space sits in an area of woodland not usually open to the public, and is just waiting for you to explore!

Join us this summer and enjoy all that nature and the great outdoors has to offer.

Where is the new pop-up play?

Our new play space sits in enclosed woodland plantation next to All Saints’ Church. From the car park, follow the new path along the back of the North Front, and you will reach the Woodland Wonderland.

Useful Information

We recommend sensible footwear when visiting the Woodland Wonderland, as the space has a natural woodland floor.

Children should be supervised at all times whilst using the Woodland Wonderland play space.

About Leilah Vyner

Leilah Vyner started Dragon Willow many years ago and now runs it from a workshop at Kirkby Wharfe, near Tadcaster. She grows her own willow as well as buying it in from local sources and really enjoys taking the willow of a journey from harvesting it to a finished product, she has been at the Chelsea Flower Show, Exhibits at many places and last year won a prestigious QEST Scholarship.

She has developed her willow weaving business and makes willow sculptures, fencing, baskets and much more as well as teaching willow basketry and sculpture skills. You might have seen the 16ft Willow Satyr she created for Harewood two Christmases ago and will have seen her basketry and fencing in films.
