Families are invited to celebrate spring at Ormesby Hall this Easter, with a packed programme of outdoor activities, crafts and family-friendly fun running throughout the school holidays.
Easter Adventures runs from Thursday 2 April to Sunday 19 April, offering children plenty of chances to get active, creative and enjoy the outdoors in the grounds of the National Trust’s historic Teesside property.
This year’s Easter trail features ten activities spread across the gardens, front field, stables and courtyard, including welly wanging, wheelbarrow racing, egg and spoon racing and a seed planting activity, as well as crafts in the marquee.
Inside the house, children can also look out for eight soft toy lambs hidden in the rooms as part of a special “spot the lamb” activity, alongside simple Easter decorations throughout the mansion.
With admission priced at just £7 for adults, £3.50 for children and £17.50 for a family ticket, Ormesby Hall offers an affordable Easter day out for local families. Entry is free for National Trust members, while the Easter trail is £3 per child, which includes receiving a chocolate egg at the end
Leanne Allan, Senior Visitor Experience Officer at Ormesby Hall, said:
“Easter is always a lovely time for families to visit Ormesby Hall. There’s so much for children to get involved in this year, from active outdoor games and crafts to little Easter surprises inside the house, and it all adds up to a really fun day out together.
We know families are looking for good value during the school holidays, and Ormesby Hall offers plenty to fill a visit. You can enjoy the trail, explore the gardens and house, stop by the café, and make a real day of it here in Middlesbrough.”
Visitors can also make use of the estate’s new multi-user trail, a free-to-use, accessible all-weather route around the wider Ormesby estate, suitable for walkers, runners, wheelchair users, pushchairs and cyclists. The trail offers another way for families to enjoy fresh air and green space while visiting. Access to the multi-user trail is free, but to visit the house, gardens, café and visitor facilities, normal admission applies.
Ormesby Hall’s Easter Adventures run from 10.30am daily, with plenty on offer for families looking for a simple, active and affordable day out during the holidays. Last entry for the Easter trail is at 3pm each day.
