Fresh from the inspiration and excitement of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, gardeners and plant lovers are invited to bring that same summer gardening magic closer to home at RHS Garden Harlow Carr’s Summer Garden Weekend, taking place from 19–21 June, from 9.30am to 4pm daily.

Set within the stunning surroundings of RHS Garden Harlow Carr in its summer prime, this special three-day celebration is the perfect opportunity for visitors to discover expert advice, exceptional plants and ideas to recreate showstopping summer colour in their own gardens.

One of the seasonal highlights at RHS Harlow Carr in June is the spectacular display of Primula Harlow Car hybrids, which create bold drifts of vibrant colour along the garden’s picturesque Streamside, offering visitors one of the most iconic sights of early summer in the garden. Combined with herbaceous borders bursting into bloom, the Summer Garden Weekend promises inspiration around every corner.

Sarah Mullan, Public Programming Manager said;

“The Summer Garden Weekend is one of the highlights of our events calendar, bringing together everything visitors love about summer gardening in one beautiful setting. It’s a fantastic opportunity to discover fresh ideas, hear from experts and shop from an exciting range of specialist nurseries and exhibitors right here in Yorkshire. With the garden looking spectacular, plus live music, delicious food and plenty to explore, it promises to be a wonderful summer day out for gardeners and non-gardeners alike.”

Throughout the weekend, visitors can enjoy a lively programme of expert talks, demonstrations and live entertainment, with daily live music adding to the festival atmosphere as guests explore the garden and event stands. Well-known gardening expert Martin Fish will host practical gardening talks and expert advice sessions, while celebrated florist Jonathan Moseley will wow audiences with stunning floral demonstrations packed with seasonal inspiration and creative ideas for the home and garden.

For those keen to shop, the Summer Garden Weekend offers the chance to browse and buy from a carefully curated collection of specialist nurseries, artisan makers and garden lifestyle exhibitors – including several exciting new-for-2026 exhibitors making their RHS Harlow Carr debut.

Specialist growers will also include Crafty Plants and Eastoft Echeveria, featuring unusual succulents, cacti and alpines; The Gatherer Florist & Giddy Kippers Plants, with cutting garden favourites; and the Yorkshire Pelargonium & Geranium Society, perfect for lovers of summer container colour.

Visitors looking beyond plants can browse an eclectic mix of garden-inspired exhibitors, including Garth Cottage Herbs for culinary herbs, Jardin de France with quality garden tools, JennyRuth Workshops for handmade bird houses and garden accessories, Holly Greenwood Design for floral art and gifts, and Jonathan Moseley’s floristry accessories.

Food lovers can also enjoy a selection of artisan produce and treats from exhibitors such as Reet Yorkshire, with locally produced condiments, and Wild Spore, offering speciality mushrooms and grow-at-home kits.

The celebration extends beyond the event marquees, with visitors encouraged to make a full day of it by enjoying RHS Harlow Carr’s much-loved hospitality. Guests can relax with refreshments at the iconic Bettys Café Tea Rooms, enjoy drinks and seasonal fare at the Harrogate Arms, or take advantage of the garden’s other food and drink outlets while soaking up the summer atmosphere.
