VisitEngland, the national tourist board named Burton Constable Hall & Grounds as finalist in the prestigious Awards for Excellence 2017. Competing against some of the very best small visitor attractions in the country, this is a fantastic achievement for Yorkshire made possible through the commitment and enthusiasm of the onsite team.
Speaking on behalf of the Burton Constable Foundation, Kelly Wainwright, Curator said “We are absolutely thrilled to have been shortlisted for the Visit England Awards. Burton Constable is one of the most fascinating historic country houses to survive with its collections and our dedicated staff and volunteers have worked tirelessly over the past few years to make this former ‘hidden gem’ no longer hidden. We had a fantastic year in 2016 with a record high of visitors combined with some amazing events, including that glorious sunny day in July when we hosted the BBC Antiques Roadshow. The team at Burton Constable does an amazing job; everyone has such a passion and enthusiasm that shines through to our visitors.”
