Get the family in the mood for Christmas this December with a visit to Ormesby Hall in Middlesbrough.

Now open every Friday to Monday all the way up to Christmas, visitors to the National Trust property can enjoy a magical fairy tale theme throughout the mansion. From the moment you arrive you’ll be surrounded by Christmas trees and decorations from some of the most beloved fairy tales, such as Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, Cinderella and, new for this year, Alice in Wonderland.

The popular Festive Evenings also return on Friday 5 and Friday 12 December, with live festive music from a visiting choir, Mrs Christmas telling stories in the library and the café selling seasonal food and drink, with mulled wine and marshmallow toasting to enjoy by the fire pit.

Each room provides the perfect backdrop to create treasured family photographs. Leanne Allan, Senior Visitor Experience Officer at Ormesby Hall, says:

“It takes a team of staff and volunteers three weeks to get the house ready for Christmas and we always love seeing families enjoying the decorations. We’ve also created a lovely family trail around the garden, allowing children to follow in Snow White’s footsteps on her fun winter wander.

Visitors will be able to pick up some festive treats in the café, with seating also available in the impressive historic Victorian kitchen. From mince pies and festive scones to hearty Cracker pies and mash or a festive turkey and cranberry croque, there’s plenty to try!”

Ormesby Hall is open from 10.30am every Friday to Monday, until Monday 22 December. Last entry to the house is at 2.45pm, with the house and café closing at 3.30pm. The grounds close at 4pm.

Opening for the festive evenings is 5pm-8pm, with last entry and last orders in the café at 7.30pm. No booking is required for any of the days or evenings.

Normal admission prices apply, which includes access into the house, garden and café. These are just £7 for adults, £3.50 for children and £17.50 for a family. National Trust members and under-fives are free admission.
