Head to the Visiting Portraits Gallery - ‘Director’s Choice’ to see four outstanding portraits including the striking David Beckham by Nadav Kander. Selected by the National Portrait Gallery Director, Dr. Nicholas Cullinan, the portraits show influential figures from British history and culture. Come face to face with original artwork showing The Nine Living Muses of Great Britain, Ted Hughes and Beatrix Potter. Normal admission charges apply. N.B. Tuesday to Sunday only.

250 years of Terry’s: from chemists to chocolatiers

New displays on show throughout the house charting the highs and lows of the Terry’s of York chocolate business. From its origins as a small shop in the city started in 1767, Terry’s went on to move and change and then create one of the world’s most iconic chocolates which still survives today – the chocolate orange. Normal admission charges apply. N.B. Wednesday to Sunday only.
